Don Dolindo Ruotolo was born in Naples, Italy, on October 6, 1882. He was known for his commitment to prayer, penance, spiritual direction, holiness, devotion to the Blessed Mother and total acceptance of God’s will.

He is known as an advocate of “the spirituality of surrender,” of which he is famous for having written the Surrender Novena.

He died on November 19, 1970. He is a candidate for beatification, with the Catholic Church bestowing on him the title of “Servant of God.”
